Canada offers a diversity of experience and landscape that can be overwhelming for both clients and travel professionals, so thirteen of TravelManagers’ Sydney-based personal travel managers (PTMs) were recently brought up to date on all Canada has to offer by some of the tourism industry’s top representatives.
The two Masterclass sessions were held at TravelManagers’ National Partnership Office (NPO) in Sydney, each session lasted ninety minutes and included presentations from Canada & Alaska Specialist Holidays, Rocky Mountaineer and Air Canada.
TravelManagers’ representative for Five Dock in Sydney’s inner west, Sandii Pink, was one of the attendees. Despite having more than seventeen years’ experience in the travel industry and having travelled extensively herself, Pink said the Masterclass session was still highly beneficial.
“It was great and I was so glad to hear from Canada/Alaska wholesalers who know their stuff.”
Executive general manager Michael Gazal said the sessions were very well received.
“Masterclass sessions like these are not just useful in building on the impressive product and destinational knowledge our PTMs already have. They also serve to strengthen the strong relationships we have with our key suppliers, both at a national level, and for individual PTMs,” said Gazal.
Air Canada sales executive Neil Ford used his time to showcase the airline’s new product for 2016, which includes the new premium economy and business class services on the 787 Dreamliner.
Rocky Mountaineer’s sale manager for Asia Pacific Dianna Schinella updated attendees on their new Silverleaf and Goldleaf options, while Ed Smith from Canada and Alaska Specialist Holidays provided a look at some of the amazing destinations within Canada and an overview of FIT journeys that could be tailor-made for individual clients.
Kim Mason, representative for Cronulla, has travelled extensively in Canada, but agrees that the training will benefit both her and her clients.
“I have done lots of training on Canada previously as well, however this was a really good way to catch up on any changes. The extra knowledge will definitely help me get a few new bookings across the line.”
