TravelManagers beefs up commitment to cruise

Lisa HumphriesTravelManagers has appointed experienced cruise specialist Lisa Humphries as cruise strategy executive, assuming executive responsibility for the development and implementation of the company’s national cruise strategy. She takes up the role on 18 January.

Executive general manager Michael Gazal said the newly created role demonstrates TravelManagers growing commitment to cruise as a specialist travel market.

“Our recent years’ excellent growth in cruise sales show the significant contribution the personal travel managers make to the cruise sector, however we recognise the importance in taking positive steps to further promote the value of cruising and developing strategies and techniques in converting cruise enquiries.

“Our objective with this new role is to ensure TravelManagers is properly structured to maximise further sales and to enhance the current specialist cruise support for the personal travel manager network.

“Lisa’s wealth of knowledge, passion and expertise within the dynamic cruise industry is unsurpassed. Her innovation, out of the box ideas and forward thinking, combined with her exceptional networking and strong industry relationships will ensure TravelManagers cruise division continues to be a growing success.”

With over 25 years of travel experience in the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Australia, Humphries more recently has more than eight years specific cruise sales and marketing experience with start-up company Best Cruises. It was under Humphries leadership the company became a top agent for all major cruise lines (including P&O, Princess, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Holland America Line) within a year of opening.
