Personal travel manager Mandy Bradtke has shown her innovative and creative business approach by holding a family fun day.

Bradtke is representative for St Agnes in SA and she came together with fellow PTMs Michelle Zienkiewicz (representative for Woodville West) and Neil Saunders (epresentative for Glengowrie) to hold a family fun day to jointly grow their respective databases and acquaint themselves with their local communities.

“We saw this as a great opportunity to raise awareness and to explain the benefits and expertise we provide clients as personal travel managers. It also provided an occasion to connect with the families within our communities and assist in our joint desire to develop a family adventure travel niche market,” said Zienkiewicz.

The PTMs are passionate about family adventure travel, but feel the benefits of this unique family travel experience are not widely known.

“I am hugely passionate about adventure travel that caters specifically for the family market. I get so excited about the amazing itineraries, countries and experiences families can enjoy, and this event was a great way to promote my expertise in this area to the right target audience,” said Bradtke.

She originally had the idea to hold the event, but it was very much a team effort.

“We all shared in the costs, organising the logistics, set up and liaising with the families on the day. The enthusiasm and support received from Michelle and Neil from the outset was incredible. I am truly inspired by the camaraderie and genuine support there is amongst the personal travel managers, we really are like one big happy family.”

The personal travel managers also found the support from their state-based business partnership manager Alison Banks invaluable.

“Alison was a true star and the day wouldn’t have been the success it was without her. Alison was on hand to help wherever and however we needed, nothing was too much trouble.  From assisting with set up, manning the registration booth, welcoming families and talking about the benefits of a personal travel manager and our expertise in family tours and experiences was simply fantastic,” said Bradtke.

Saunders said the family fun day was a valuable experience in marketing.

“We have each added new subscribers to our eNewsletter databases and will continue to communicate with these potential new clients through our fortnightly personalised emails. The clients will also receive a copy of our ‘Inspired’ magazine three times a year and will have access to our blogs and Facebook, which is updated regularly with new and interesting travel information.”

Executive general manager Michael Gazal said the family fun day is a great example of how the TravelManagers customised local marketing kit can assist new personal travel managers with building their databases.

“We are hugely aware that in a traditional travel environment consultants operate in highly-visible branded and accessible locations and are regularly visited by potential new customers seeking advice and competitive prices. Consequently very few personal travel managers have previously had the need or experience in creating awareness for their services or generating customer inquiries,” said Gazal.

“TravelManagers’ marketing kit was specifically created with this in mind to assist personal travel managers with case studies and information on seeking referrals, client networking, organising events and preparing corporate proposals while also being a source of advertising materials and promotional collateral.”
