Five top performing personal travel managers (PTMs) enjoyed three days in Auckland recently, with the focus on corporate travel.

TravelManagers executive general manager Michael Gazal said the famil was the result of an incentive that specifically targeted corporate PTMs and recognised increased trans-Tasman sales during a designated period.

“Some of our highest-performing PTMs are corporate agents – in fact, one of the five PTM participants on this famil was Ric Pattaro, who has won ‘Best Travel Consultant – Corporate’ at the National Travel Industry Awards in both 2015 and 2014,” said Gazal.

“New Zealand is a growth destination for our corporate clients and we believe it’s essential that the National Partnership Office (NPO) provide the necessary support to ensure that our corporate PTMs’ knowledge of key destinations is up-to-date.”

The trip was sponsored and hosted by Langham Auckland Hotel, Jet Park Hotel & Conference Centre at Auckland Airport, Air New Zealand and Virgin Australia.

Corporate operations executive Simon Alcaraz accompanied the PTMs and said the hotel representatives in both properties were outstanding hosts.

“The whole group came away very impressed with the quality of accommodation options, dining facilities and attentiveness of staff at both hotels,” he said.

The Jet Park Hotel arranged a VIP Villa Maria winery and cellar door tour and wine tasting event to highlight one of the many entertainment and sightseeing options available for those that opt for accommodation by the airport.

Rebecca Crosbie, representative for Cardigan, Victoria, said the restaurants at both the Jet Park Hotel and the Langham were highlights.

“The Langham’s signature restaurant, Eight, offers eight different styles of cuisine and is served in gourmet buffet style. I will definitely be recommending it to my clients.”

The group also sampled the spa facilities at the Langham and visited Viaduct Harbour, where they explored the Britomart shopping/café/farmers’ market precinct, before heading up the Sky Tower for a bird’s eye view of the city.

Di Yates, representative for Montrose in Victoria, said the time spent in Auckland was a great opportunity to refresh her knowledge of the city she last visited two years ago.

“We had a fantastic weekend of good food and great company, the weather was kind to us when we were out and about and we all went home with some great tips, which are just so valuable – you can’t put a price on those little gems.”
