Sixteen Sydney-based personal travel managers, along with NSW business partnership managers David McCarthy and Julie Anderson, recently experienced an interactive training session courtesy of Thai Airways and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), followed by a delicious Thai lunch.
The group enjoyed an airfare update from Thai Airways sales executives Angela Tanis and Jane Allwright, with product training from Sherly Handjojo, TAT’s Australian marketing manager.
“It was a great opportunity to learn more about the Thai Airways special fares and their free stopover offer. I came away from the training learning something that I didn’t know before and that’s what makes a good training session,” said Maria Furnari, representative for Panania.
The personal travel managers were impressed by some of the latest attractions that Thailand has to offer.
“It was great to get an update on the most popular destinations but what I found really exciting was to learn about some of the unique ‘local community’ experiences that are available. More and more we are finding clients are looking for a rewarding holiday experience where they immerse themselves within the destination and live like a local,” said Danielle Goncalves, representative for Erskineville.
For Tanis, the chance to give the PTMs a taste of Thailand before they head to Bangkok for the national conference in August was an opportunity not to be missed.
“Our goal was to excite and inform the personal travel managers about our country before their upcoming conference in Bangkok. It was great to personally meet some of the personal travel managers and provide them with an exclusive update on Thai Airways and a treat them with a taste of Thailand with some popular Thai dishes.
