SONY DSCAdelaide Oval was the perfect setting for TravelManagers’ Sporting Legends dinner on Saturday night. The event took place on the second night of the company’s Annual National Conference. Attendees were invited to dress in their favourite team colours/jersey or to dress as their favourite sporting hero.

At least two attendees needed no fancy dress to explain their presence at the dinner: tennis coach Roger Rasheed and Adelaide’s own motor-racing hero, Nick Percat.

During the course of the dinner, these two honoured guests were subjected to live interviews that were conducted by two personal travel managers. Darren Christensen, representative for Narre Warren South in Victoria, took to the stage to interview Nick Percat, who in 2011 became the first rookie driver to win the Bathurst 1000 race in over thirty years.

Nicole Edgar, also a representative for Narre Warren South, took full advantage of the evening’s dress code to appear as dual code rugby star Lote Tuqiri, when she interviewed Roger Rasheed, formerly Lleyton Hewitt’s tennis coach.

“We pack a lot into our conference, but it’s important that attendees also have the opportunity to enjoy themselves a little. I think it’s safe to say that Roger’s and Nick’s interviews were the highlight of the evening,” said executive general manager Michael Gazal.
