The first day of the Spring Carnival at Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse this year was themed Sofitel Girls Day Out.  Seven of TravelManagers Melbourne-based personal travel managers (PTMs) took advantage of the festive atmosphere to treat their clients to a fun day out and thank them for ongoing business.

Business partnership manager Kellie Browning said the day was planned as a result of a meeting between herself, her fellow BPM Scott Hallo, and Emirates’ senior executive – corporate, Carl Matto.

“Emirates were incredibly generous in their support of our day out, providing us with the opportunity to host our clients in the Emirates’ corporate suite where we were able to spoil them with all-day finger food, an open bar and access to a private betting area.”

Joanne Haines, representative for Berwick, Victoria, said the entry price of $208 per person was a sound investment in the future of her business.

“I had an awesome day and my clients said it was their best day out for long time. We had good company, great food and the best Mumm champagne, let alone the view, with open windows to the track. My clients have already signed on for next year, but I’m just happy to have been able to thank them for their amazing support of my business.”

TravelManagers’ Kylie Luttrell, representative for Brighton, Victoria, was also at the track with one of her most valued clients.

“We had a brilliant day and my client said she felt very special to have been invited – which was the purpose of the exercise,” she said.

“And as an added bonus, I took home around $400 of winnings – a very successful day all round!”
