TravelManagers can’t contain its delight that two of the network’s Personal Travel Managers – Kim Mason representative from Cronulla in Sydney, and Nakita Byrne from Mount Arthur in Dubbo, NSW – have been nominated among the four finalists in this year’s 2017 Avis Travel Agents Scholarship.
“While some may view the home-based consultant concept as a greenfield distribution channel, there is no doubting its place and growing importance in the industry as a whole,” said TravelManagers’ Executive General Manager, Michael Gazal.
“By having two out of the four finalist nominations as personal travel managers further highlights the acclamation of TravelManagers as Australia’s market leader in the rapidly growing home-based consulting segment.
“In addition to the initial written submission, finalists will need to provide an oral submission of prepared and impromptu questions to members of the judging panel. We have the utmost confidence in Kim and Nakita, and wish them every success. No matter what the outcome is on 13 November, they are both already winners in our eyes.”

Kim Mason
Kim Mason has been a personal travel manager since 2006 and said she feels extremely honoured to be chosen as a finalist.
“I feel so honoured to be recognised for simply doing what I love! I pride myself on providing a point of difference, whether it be in value, expertise, service or advice to my clients. I always look for ways to share my knowledge and experiences, to optimise my client’s travel experiences and minimise inconvenience. It’s the little things, like suggesting a limousine ride or booking a private cooking class, that I know will absolutely make my clients holiday the best it can be, and continues to be my motivation.”

Nakita Byrne
Nakita Byrne joined the company in 2014.
“I am extremely humbled to be announced as a finalist for the Avis Travel Agents Scholarship of Excellence,” she said.
“Having joined TravelManagers as a PTM just three years ago, I’ve come to love the freedom and flexibility. I pride myself on making my clients feel valued by providing expert advice and personal experiences to make their travel experience the best it can be. Providing consistent and outstanding service and genuinely looking out for what is in my clients’ best interests is the key to my success.”
